GM may extend Saab deadline, report says

General Motors is prepared to wait beyond the end of this week before deciding on the future of Saab as it reviews remaining bids, Bloomberg News reported. The news agency quoted Saab board member Paul Aakerlund as saying that if there is a bid that GM finds sufficiently interesting, then GM's Dec. 31 decision to wind down its Swedish unit "is not a date that's holy.” Aakerlund said GM told Saab last week that it would wind down Saab and simultaneously continue talks with bidders about a sale, said Aakerlund, who also heads the IF Metall union at Saab.

2012 VW Scirocco Volkswagen has had a play with the Scirocco range for 2012, adding equipment, cutting prices and adding an R Line trim. The Volkswagen Scirocco is a good little coupe. We wish the Scirocco R had the 4WD the Golf R gets, but other than that it’s stylish, quite individual and,despite its FWD setup, fun.

Lamborghini Gallardos recalled for fire risk

A safety recall for 1,491 2004-2006 Gallardo coupes and spyders was handed down by Lamborghini due to a potential faulty hydraulic hose in the power steering system that could, with an ignition source, start a fire. Owners will be notified within the next month if their car is one of the potential candidates for a “Disco Inferno.”
