2013 Ford Mondeo: Paris 2012
Sat, 29 Sep 2012Ford has given the new Mondeo its first public outing at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and it looks a good effort. But the new 2013 Ford Mondeo no longer has the advantage of being a default buy for families, so Ford are working hard to make the Mondeo stand out from the mainstream offerings in the C/D segment by making it appear to more ‘Premium’ than just a mere Ford. That means a new nose – a nose that looks like it belongs on an Aston Martin – and a clever range of technology and engines that actually offer more – and for less – than most of the premium car makers can manage.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS (2009) (2nd gen 997) first photos
Wed, 19 Aug 2009By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 19 August 2009 09:42 Porsche has just unveiled these first photographs of the new second-generation 997 GT3 RS – Porsche shorthand for the hardest, most track-focused contemporary 911 yet. While some prefer the sledgehammer power of the new 911 Turbo and others choose the widowmaker, aka the loony, rear-drive turbocharged GT2, for many the 911 GT3 RS is the purest of the rear-engined Porsches. The new photos of the GT3 RS reveal a 911 that’s been fettled and feted, prepared for use cross-country or at Cadwell Park race track.
Ford sales show move away from diesel
Mon, 11 Aug 2014NEW CAR buyers are moving back towards petrol engines after years of diesel domination, if Ford’s latest sales figures are any guide. The company has revealed that its multi-award-winning 1.0-litre Ecoboost turbocharged petrol engine now powers one in every five cars sold in Europe, totalling 120,000 vehicles from January to the end of June. That figure is an increase from 104,000 1.0-litre Ecoboost-powered cars sold in the same period in 2013.
