JLT Performance has added yet another high quality product to our line of products that will prolong the life and performance of your Mustang's intake system with this blue JLT air filter pre-filter! These pre-filters are designed to fit around your 5"x8", 4.5"x9", 4"x9", 3.5"x8" air filter to enhance the efficiency of your exposed air filter. This pre-filter is constructed with a proprietary polyester mesh with uniform micron openings. The mesh is UV resistant, and filters debris down to .005", is shatter proof in freezing temperatures, and is resistant to heat up to 450 degrees. The material is also puncture resistant and has elasticity characteristics allowing the threads to return to the original position in the event the threads have been impacted or shifted. These pre-filters are treated with a hydrophobic water-repellent process, and will not have any negative airflow loss compared to a non water repellent pre-filter.

CAFE standard set at 54.5 mpg by 2025

The final version of the new corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standard was released today and, as expected, automakers will need to attain a fleet average of 54.5 mpg by 2025. The rules include electric and hybrid vehicles and—as of today—natural gas vehicles. The Environmental Protection Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration proposed the rules in November, after reaching an agreement with automakers last July.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class aerodynamics tested [w/video]

Mercedes-Benz has produced a video testing the aerodynamics of its new B-Class – which it claims is the most aerodynamically efficient car in the world – using a wind tunnel and fluorescent paint. The W245-generation B-Class has the lowest aerodynamic drag in its segment with a Cd of just 0.26, thanks to features such as serrated front wheel arch spoilers, optimized cooling airflow and a Pagoda roof to help airflow over its profile. The car's aero properties were put to the test at the MIRA vehicle test facility in the UK using fluorescent paint in 60mph winds to highlight its flow dynamics, only visible under UV lights.

Classic Mercedes, Maserati cars win top honors at Amelia Island concours

Noted car collectors Sam and Emily Mann won their fourth Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance Best in Show award with a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster (with covered spare). This car is one of only three known to have been built. Originally shipped to the German embassy in Argentina, the Manns have owned the car for about 18 years.
