I hand make these myself out of steel and each one is a little different. Chrome it, powder it, paint it, or run it the way it is, its up to you! The Cobo Hall has been rearranged this year to reflect the change in ownership, and so we enjoyed the juxtaposition of a Ferrari 599XX alongside a Dodge Viper. Slightly less easy on the eye was the abomination that was the Chrysler Chrysler.

SEAT has been a bit more daring with their take on the new VW Golf and Audi A3 (the SEAT Leon is based on the same VW MQB platform as its Volkswagen Group siblings) with a sporty statement nose and interesting creases running down the side.

The very survival of Detroit is being questioned as Congress debates the $25 billion aid package to save GM, Ford and Chrysler – and now it looks as if the NAIAS is under threat too. In the past weeks, Ferrari, Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Suzuki have announced their withdrawal from the show, which is scheduled to begin on 11 January 2009.
