 Nicely marked and in unused condition is this vintage bypass oil filter that used a roll of toilet paper for the filter element. It was made by John Frantz in Modesto California. It has never been used and retains its original sticker and nice bright chrome. Scrape on the front of the sticker and scratches to the chrome from shelf wear. Original roll of toilet paper included. Mercedes CLA starts to roll off production line in Hungary

The Mercedes CLA – the baby Mercedes CLS based on the new A Class – has started to roll off the production line at Kecskemét in Hungary. But that’s probably unfair; based as it is on the new A-Class, the CLA is a very good car under the skin, even if its big USP is the dramatic styling. Now, just over a week after the CLA got its first public reveal (if you don’t count the Mercedes Concept Style Coupe on which its based), the first production car has rolled off the line at the Mercedes plant in Kecskemét, Hungary.

CarArt.us, the largest online automotive art gallery, is featuring art from world-renowned futurist Syd Mead's 50-piece ‘Progressions' exhibit, a retrospective spanning more than 50 years. Mead's work is shown in chronological order, starting from 1957's Bugatti concept and tracking his progression all the way up to 2010's Megacoach. Highly influential futurist Mead graduated with distinction from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles in 1959, beginning his career at Ford's Advanced Styling Studio in Dearborn, Michigan, before establishing Syd Mead, Inc.

Honda city car gets a new hybrid drivetrain and dual-clutch gearbox – and a claimed 102.8mpg The new Honda Jazz Hybrid has been revealed, with massive improvements in fuel economy for the smartly packaged and keenly priced urban runabout. Its 102.8mpg (UK) claim puts the current Jazz Hybrid’s figure of 62.8mpg in the shade, as well as that of the Toyota Yaris Hybrid with 81.0mpg. It will be shown at the Frankfurt motor show this September before arriving in UK showrooms in 2014.
