The Ferrari 599XX sets a Nurburgring record - video below We’ve brought you a number of ‘Nurburgring Record’ stories over the last year. It’s a big deal for car makers and adds kudos to their offerings. So it’s no surprise to see Ferrari pitching their hat in to the ring with the claim of a new Nurburgring record for the Ferrari 599XX.

New Peugeot 208 won’t spawn Estate or Convertible, but a 2008 SUV Crossover is planned.

There may be a new Peugeot 208 GTi (pictured) but no 208 CC or SW Peugeot has revealed that there will be no CC (Convertible) or SW (estate) versions of the new 208, but a 2008 SUV/Crossover is expected. The new Peugeot 208 has a weight of expectations resting on its new shoulders, with Peugeot finding sales harder to come by and hoping the new 208 may rekindle some of the sales fire the 205 had. So you’d think it would make sense to fill every possible niche imaginable with the 208, including spinning off various iterations in the style of MINI.

GERMAN tuning firms are known for occasionally crossing the barriers of taste, but this latest offering from Carlsson appears to have gone into new territory. Called the CS50 Versailles – after the Palace of Versailles that King Louis XIV turned into a opulent chateau – it’s based on the latest generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which is hardly a car short on luxury. But that hasn’t stopped Carlsson turning it into an automotive homage to gold.
