Up for sale is a good used lower unit gear case assembly that came from a low hour 1963 fresh water 5-1/2 HP short shaft Johnson outboard motor model CD 20

Part number 376791 or 382573

This used unit is in excellent working condition and includes all the gears, drive shaft #376787, water pump with good impellar (no water tube) and shift rod

It came from a very clean motor that had very little use

Please note when I drained the grease for shipment I found no water so all seal are good

I pulled the skeg and inspected everything and found the gears, shaft, impeller, etc in near perfect condition then reassembled and sealed the 2 halves with gasket sealer so it is ready to go, just add grease

It shifts from forward into nuetral and into reverse with no problem

Chevy Camaro Z/28 programmed with flying car logic

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Most of the time when on a racetrack, or anywhere for that matter, you want to keep all four wheels on the ground. Sure, it's cool when a VW Golf gets a wheel up during an autocross event, still, it's less traction going to the ground for braking, accelerating or turning. But if you're really going for a hot lap, catching a little air is often par for the course.

Porsche Macan ‘FAILS’ Moose Test – but there’s a reason (+video)

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

The Porsche Macan locks its front brake in the Moose Test The Moose (or Elk) test is a maneuverability and stability test commonly carried out in cold countries to test the behaviour of cars when subject to extreme avoidance tests – such as when trying to miss a Moose that’s wandered in to the road. The Moose Test is probably best remembered as the potential downfall of the original Mercedes A Class, when Teknikens Värld  Magazine conducted a test on the then very new – and groundbreaking – high-riding A-Class, when it rolled over and cost Mercedes a small fortune in re-engineering to restore safety credibility to the A-Class. Now it’s Porsche’s turn to come under the spotlight after Teknikens Värld ran a test on a Macan S Diesel that exhibited some strange behaviour during the test.
