Up for grabs, I have a lower unit removed from a 1985 70 HP Evinrude outboard. The motor was used in freshwater only. The powerhead threw a rod through the block and is being parted out. I was told everything was working fine before the powerhead went. The lower unit was already off this motor when I acquired it. I checked the gear oil and it was completely empty/drained. I did bench test it and it did shift into all gears. The condition of the seals is unknown. Being empty, I was unable to check for water in the gear oil. Due to this, I am selling AS IS. Feel free to email me with any questions. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Shipping is fast and FREE. |

Car dealers are buying again
Wed, 21 Jan 2009Used car sales in the UK (and just about everywhere else, for that matter) have been in the doldrums, to say the least, for many months. The inexorable decline in car values has left many dealers nursing painful losses on stock cars, and has led to the strange situation where, however desperate a dealer was to sell you a new car, he wouldn’t (or couldn’t) offer you a part-ex price. Car dealers are buying stock again But according to the used car value Gurus at Glasses Guide, things are starting to look up – a little.
Logbook loans signal increasing debt risk
Mon, 23 Jun 2014CONSUMERS who buy second-hand cars are at risk of unwittingly inheriting debts taken out by the previous owner that could end up with their vehicle being seized, Citizens' Advice is warning. The charity said one in five people who reported a problem to it about “logbook loans”, where a person places their car as security against a loan, ended up having their car repossessed – despite not being the one who borrowed the money. Citizens' Advice warned someone who buys a car which is still the subject of an outstanding logbook loan taken out by a previous owner could end up being chased for the debt – leaving them with the choice of making the repayments or having their vehicle repossessed.
One Lap of the Web: 2014 Corvette Stingray walk-around, RM Auctions and a 1964 Volvo PV544
Wed, 31 Jul 2013We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. -- We recently drove the ’14 Corvette Stingray and were extremely impressed with its agility.
