Johnson Evinrude Vro Pump 438404 1985-2000 40 50 on 2040-parts.com
Verdi, Nevada, US
This is a complete VRO pump assembly with a 3 wire plug. The original part number was 438404, superceding to 5004562 and 5007421. This pump works with 1985-2000 on 40 and 50 HP OMC 2 cylinder engines.
I recently had this item replaced by my local dealer whilst attempting to troubleshoot an alarm. Unfortunately the problem persisted after replacing my pump and turned out to be a faulty alarm horn rather than my fuel pump. The pump is about six years old and was still functioning properly upon removal. It can be used as is but for a piece of mind I would suggest purchasing a diaphragm rebuild kit to ensure its operation.
Please verify the part number will fit your engine before purchasing.
