Mon, 11 Oct 2010Opel/Vauxhall today asks students: "What do you think is our lounge style?" as part of a new, interactive design competition being launched with Car Design News. The competition is for students studying at design schools (of any discipline) in Europe, and will be in two stages: Stage 1 is the interior, and then Stage 2 the exterior. It culminates in a display of the work of the finalists and announcement of the two winners at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011.
McLaren P1 goes round Top Gear Track with Sergio Perez (video)
Sat, 16 Mar 2013We have video of the new McLaren P1 taking on the Top Gear track at Dunsfold in the hands of McLaren’s F1 driver Sergio Perez. So when McLaren sent us a video that declared their new F1 driver, Sergio Perez, had taken the P1 round Dunsfold – and here is the video – we though we might get a proper insight in to just how quick the P1 is.
Umea University students complete Saab collaboration project
Wed, 03 Nov 2010A selection of first-year students from Sweden's Umea University have completed a 10-week collaborative design project with Saab. Tasked with exploring new directions for the brand, students were encouraged to investigate the interplay of brand and identity. Each of them was assigned a non-automotive brand to reflect on parallels that could be established between that brand and Saab, whilst also capturing the essence of the Swedish carmaker through their project's concept, its proportions, surface language, details, graphics, functionality and material choices.
