July 1928 "The Alexander Aircrafter" Alexander Eaglerock, Bullet and Flyabout The Alexander Aircraft Company published "The Alexander Aircrafter" series monthly in the late 20’s and early 30’s. The Eaglerock aircraft were built in the Denver suburb of Englewood and after the factory burned, in Colorado Springs Colorado. The company was started by a couple of brothers who were in the film industry and wanted an airplane to deliver their films. They could not find an available aircraft that was suitable, so designed one. The Eaglerock series became very popular and for a time, were producing more aircraft than anyone in the world. Al Mooney of Mooney Aircraft fame was a designer for Alexander Aircraft. The magazine contains period photographs and articles about their aircraft and articles about aviation in general. It measures 7 7/8 inches by 5 ½ inches. The issues were known for their colorful and often whimsical covers. Up for auction is a July 1928 issue. The binding (staples) are loose. I would consider it in good condition. It contains 22 pages.

Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way?
Thu, 02 Feb 2012Is the Jaguar XFR-S on the way (2012 XFR pictured) New reports suggest that the Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful XFR with the output of the XKR-S – is close to production. Last summer we reported that a Jaguar XFR-S was being planned (actually, we also said a Jaguar XJR-S was in the planning too) in order to take the fight back to the Germans, with the latest iterations of the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG now offering more power than the XFR can muster. The idea of a more powerful XFR wasn’t just wild speculation (or an educated guess as to what Jaguar needed to do to keep in touch with German rivals) but was also based on Adrian Hallmark’s comments that it would be nice to take the power upgrades on the XKR-S and extend them to the XF.

Tue, 10 Jun 2014Lotus Exige LF1 Limited Edition – one for every Lotus F1 victory It’s a nice idea to build a limited edition car – the Lotus Exige LF1 – to celebrate very one of the 81 victories Lotus has enjoyed in F1, but it does make you wonder if Lotus has done it because they’re never likely to win again (and if they do, do they produce another LF1?). Still, Lotus has pulled out the icon JPS livery for the Lotus Exige S (from the days cigarettes could be advertised) to give the LF1 a pretty paint job of black and gold (with added red bits) including a black and gold Lotus badge up front and a contrast stitched interior with F1 logos on the seats. Also interesting is that each car will receive a plaque commemorating each individual victory, from the 1960 win at Monaco with Stirling Moss behind the wheel to the last in Australia in 2013 with Kimi Raikkonen.
