This is a good used K&N Cold Air Intake for 1997-199 Dodge Dakota with 5.2 and 5.9 engines as well as 1988-1999 Dodge Durangos with 5.2 and 5.9. They normally go for $250-$260 new. I had it on my 1999 Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T but decided to change to Airaid. The original tube cracked and I have since replaced it with a new factory replacement from K&N as well as the necessary hardware for installing the kit. I still have the original air filter and heat shield. I also have a printed copy of the instructions since I no longer have the original. The original air filter is hard to slip on the intake tube because the filter is old and warped. I'm sure if you play with it you can squeeze it on. I'm sure since the tube is new it makes it a little more difficult with an original filter that's been tightented over and over. If all else fails you can still get the new air filter RC-4680 for around $55. Then it will be basically a new K&N kit. The heat shield is there too. It might need cleaning and touch up paint to look good. The seal is coming up but it's not off so I didn't mess with it. It's basically a complete kit. Clean the filter and wrestle to get it on the tube and it's good to go. K&N states it provides 10.74HP and 12.31LBS-FT on a 1998 Dodge Durango 5.2. So I assume similar results could be expected with a 5.2 or 5.9 Dakota or Durango. I have yet to reinstall the intake tube or even open the new hardware kit because I decided to try an Airaid kit because I like it's more simpler design.

Mini John Cooper Works WRC: the roll cage in detail

Wed, 06 Jul 2011

Mini claims it’s created the safest WRC car ever – with a little help from Prodrive.  And to prove the point, they’ve opened up the Mini Countryman WRC’s innards and spilled some of the secrets of its rollcage. The Countryman racer is stripped and fitted with a new type of rollcage designed by Prodrive. Its beams curve outwards and the Banbury engineers say it has been designed to withstand impacts much better than the straight crossbeams used in most WRC cars.

BMW X5 M Triple Turbo diesel on the way?

Sun, 12 Apr 2009

BMW are reportedly working on a tri-turbo diesel version of the X5M Car makers are getting some extraordinary numbers out of their products at the moment. I mentioned the other day my super-fast 3.0 litre Ford Capri from the ’70s that delivered a then stonking great 138bhp. And around 20mpg.
