Frank Stephenson on the importance of color in design

Wed, 01 May 2013

During the announcement of the McLaren Automotive's partnership with paints and coatings company, AkzoNobel, Car Design News took the opportunity to discuss the importance of color in design with design director Frank Stephenson. According to Stephenson color's ability to invoke emotions and communicate with viewers, he described just how big a part it has to play in the design process and how it inspires designers when developing products. Jaguar F-Type V8 R planned by Arden

Sat, 12 Jan 2013

German tuners Arden are planning to deliver a Jaguar F-Type V8 R ahead of Jaguar with the promise of a 550bhp version on offer. The new Jaguar F-Type isn’t going to start arriving in the hands of customers for a few months yet, but that small detail isn’t going to stop the world’s car customisers planning a tweak or three to Jaguar’s new sports car. Arden – German tuners of British cars – has revealed plans to make the new F-Type V8 S in to something akin to what we expect Jaguar’s own top-end F-Type V8 R to deliver when it arrives – around 550bhp.

New Jaguar XF R-Sport is the start of more R-Sport models from Jaguar

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

The Jaguar XF R-Sport (pictured) adds sport looks to the saloon and Sportbrake The big news from Jaguar for the 2014 Geneva Motor Show is the arrival of a barnstorming XF Estate – the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake – with its 542bhp supercharged V8. But also heading for Geneva is a more lowly XF that might not grab the headlines but will probably do more for Jaguar’s bottom line than the XFR-S – the new Jaguar XF R-Sport. Available as an XF saloon or XF Sportbrake, the XF R-Sport is Jaguar’s take on stuff like BMW M Sport and Mercedes AMG Line (but without any power or suspension tweaks) and is aimed at owners and drivers who want the sporty looks of cars like the XFR but want it powered by something more prosaic.
