What we actually have is what looks like a grey-haired German accountant standing next to a car under a sheet. But this is in fact Michael Dick – Audi’s Board Member for Technical Development – standing next to the new Audi A8.

Fiat has issued this Youtube video of its new 500X crossover, which is destined to launch the Italian brand into the compact SUV market dominated by the Nissan Juke. Although an annoyingly restricted view of the 500X, it is possible to make out the silhouette and outline of the baby crossover, which goes on sale in the UK in time for the new 15-reg launch in March 2015. Toyota Hydrogen Fuel Cell breakthrough to be announced at Frankfurt Motor Show Regardless of whether you think the electric car is potentially a planet saviour or not, the idea of powering cars with hydrogen is a powerful one; the holy grail of automotive powertrains. Technically, ICE cars can be built to run using hydrogen (and a retro-fit allowing that to be achieved economically would be a huge breakthrough) but car makers are heading down the road of electric cars being powered by a hydrogen fuel cell at the moment. In Toyota’s case, that means a setup similar to their hybrid cars, with a hydrogen fuel cell replacing the petrol engine.
