Four million drivers aged over 70
Mon, 23 Sep 2013THE NUMBER of people aged over 70 who hold driving licences has exceeded four million for the first time, according to the RAC Foundation. The oldest licence holder is a 107-year-old woman, while there are 191 people aged over 100 who have licences. Once people reach 70 they must declare whether or not they are fit to drive every three years, without having to take a driving or medical examination.

Despite carrying the concept tagline, the car is a thinly veiled production model of the forthcoming Samsung SM7 in Asia, and possibly the next generation Renault Laguna or Safrane in Europe. GM names Stracke to succeed Reilly as CEO of Opel/Vauxhall
Thu, 17 Mar 2011General Motors on Thursday named global engineering chief Karl-Friedrich Stracke to replace Nick Reilly as CEO of its money-losing Opel/Vauxhall unit, effective April 1. Stracke will report to Reilly, 61, who continues as the head of GM's European operations and will be nominated to chair the Opel supervisory board. Stracke, a German native, has led GM's global vehicle engineering operations for the past 15 months.
