Description

The K-Tuned Billet Shift Knob is the result of quite a bit of customer and racer feedback. Because K-Tuned already offers several K-Series shifter upgrades, it was definitely time for them to develop a clean and functional shift knob.

The process begins with a solid billet bar of 6061 aluminum, and each knob is machined to final size on a CNC lathe. After the lathe, the blank knobs are sent out for the anodizing process. The black is hard anodized and the silver is a regular anodize. During the final step, each knob is chucked up on a 4-Axis CNC mill to precision cut in the unique grid pattern that was designed to improve shifter grip. This final step is so critical that we actually have a 5% scrap rate. On a cable shifter setup they have found that a weighted knob can cause shifting problems for some drivers because the neutral return spring has to work harder to pull the shifter back to the center. So instead of going to the heavy side K-T found a good weight (5.5 oz) that is just enough to allow confident and accurate shifting while still keeping enough weight to help the front to back shifts.

Shift knobs are finished in your choice of black or silver with an engraved K-Tuned logo on both sides and on the top. A custom made jam nut is included to keep the knob locked in place.

This knob is a great way to finish off any shifter setup!

      Record Breaker Roars Again

      Thu, 30 Jan 2014

WEDNESDAY 29th January will go down in history as the day Sir Malcolm Campbell’s record breaking 350hp Sunbeam was fired up and heard in public for the first time in over 50 years. The historic event followed a complete rebuild by the National Motor Museum’s workshop team. As the brainchild of Sunbeam’s chief engineer and racing team manager, Louis Coatalen, the car was constructed during 1919 and early 1920 and power came from an aero engine, a type used on naval seaplanes.

Bentley SUV to show at Beijing unchanged

      Mon, 26 Mar 2012

Bentley SUV to show at Beijing unchanged Despite a less than overwhelming endorsement at Geneva, Bentley are planning to take their SUV concept to the Beijing Motor Show unchanged. It does make sense for Bentley to build an SUV. But does it make sense for them to put the SUV concept from this year’s Geneva Motor Show in to production as it is?

Own a Toyota? Get a cheap garage door

      Thu, 04 Mar 2010

Got a Toyota? Get a cheap garage door Life has not been a bed of roses for Totota owners just lately with the Toyota Recall in full swing round the globe. They’ve suffered the indignity of having to swap the smugness many had about the real world reliability of their chosen transport tosuffering not just the worry of whether their own Toyota has a potentially lethal fault, but the severe mickey-taking of non-Toyota owners.
