Jaguar Project 7: It’s an F-Type R with the DNA of a D-Type (video)
Wed, 10 Jul 2013Jaguar Project 7 (pictured) is an F-Type R with D-Type Styling We did wonder, when Jaguar revealed they were taking a one-off design study of the new F-Type to Goodwood this week if it would be the first look at the Jaguar F-Type R. Well, it is, but with a big twist. Yes, the Jaguar Project 7 – for that is what Jaguar has called this one-off F-Type – is an F-Type with the 542bhp version of the Supercharged V8 the other performance Jaguars get.
New Volvo Concept at Geneva Motor Show. But what is it?
Wed, 12 Feb 2014The Volvo XC Coupe Concept (left) and Coupe Concept will be joined by a third concept at Geneva Now Volvo has its new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), and its new Drive-E engine range, heading for production they’ve been planning three new concepts to show off the possibilities the new architecture and engines promise. The first of those was the very appealing Volvo Concept Coupe which debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year as a 21st century take on the classic Volvo P1800. With stunning looks, a new nose evolved from the earlier Concept You, floating grill and slim headlights, the Concept Coupe also came with a 4WD drivetrain powered by a 2.0 litre petrol and an electric motor for an output of 395bhp.
Lamborghini Urus SUV confirmed to arrive in 2017
Tue, 14 May 2013The Urus will be VW Group’s lightest and quickest SUV – expected to best even the Porsche Cayenne Turbo – and will be built on VW’s new large SUV platform – the same platform that will underpin the Bentley Falcon SUV, Audi Q7 (and Audi Q9) and Porsche Cayenne – and will use a forged carbon composite structure from the central tunnel to the rear suspension to save weight. Power for the Urus is expected to come from the twin-turbo V8 we’ve already seen in the Bentley Continental GT and Audis, producing something in the region of 600bhp and perhaps even more if Lamborghini add a hybrid option to throw some electric assistance at the V8′s 600 horses. It seems likely the Urus concept will remain largely unchanged for production, although we could see some toning down of its more extreme elements, as Lamborghini look to add 3,000 sales a year to their annual total when the Urus hits showrooms.
