One of the many great attributes of the 06-07 WRX is the brakes! If only you could have a set of FHI Calipers on your 02-05 WRX, or GC Impreza then life would be complete! Well now you can do just that. Kartboy has designed a quality big brake adapter so that you can run the FHI Calipers on the rear of your WRX, RS, and some choice Forester and Legacy models. These adapter kits will come provided with all the mounting hardware which includes high grade bolts which will hold up to all the horsepower you will be running. Please note that mounting these calipers also requires the use of 06-07 WRX rear rotors, and of course the proper calipers to make for a complete installation. Mon, 07 Nov 2011Subaru BRZ teased ahead of Tokyo We’ve seen speculation on the Subaru BRZ – Subaru’s version of the Toyota FT-86 – increase hugely as the arrival of the production version of the BRZ approaches at the Tokyo Motor Show in just a few weeks. The general consensus is that the BRZ will get something around 295bhp – after a Subaru spokesman said the BRZ will have ‘less than 300bhp’ – but we really have no idea how much more powerful the BRZ will be than the FT-86. So when we got an email in this morning with a teaser image for the production-ready BRZ, we thought maybe Subaru has decided to put us out of our misery.
Up in smoke: Smokey Yunick's garage burns
Tue, 26 Apr 2011Legendary NASCAR mechanic Smokey Yunick closed the "Best Damn Garage In Town" long before he died in 2001. But the main concrete-block, tin-roofed building on Beach Street in Daytona Beach, Fla., remained a stop on the NASCAR history trail for visiting faithful until Monday night, when fire destroyed the building. The building housed Yunick's office and a medium-size garage and more recently served as office space for Carbon Press, the publishing company that Yunick's daughter, Trish, operates and which produces products that include Yunick's salty 1,100-page autobiography and biographies of other racing personalities.
