KATADYN Survivor 06 Desalinator
Watermaker (MROD-06-LL-1) $995.00 (Retail) E-bay Sale: $550.00 (New) Manual
Survivors: Katadyn's
manual watermakers are intended for both emergency use and applications where
electrical power simply isn't available. No survival kit or life raft should be
without a Katadyn Survivor hand-held watermaker. Compact, lightweight, and easy
to operate, these units will supply emergency drinking water to help prevent
dehydration or even loss of life. Product
Description: By pressurizing seawater to 800psi, then forcing the
water through a semipermeable membrane, this unit eliminates 98.4% of the
water’s salt content. Takes up less space and weighs less than three pints of
canned water, yet produces enough water to keep a person hydrated in one hour
or six gallons daily—enough to hydrate up to 24 people indefinitely!
As the smallest
hand-operated emergency desalinator in the world, the Survivor 06 uses reverse
osmosis to remove dissolved salts from seawater by filtering it through a
semipermeable membrane. Only 10% of water passes through the membrane while the
remaining 90% flows past the membrane and cleans. The small size of the
membrane’s pores ensures extremely pure drinking water when it counts.
Katadyn’s Energy Recovery system takes advantage of stored energy in the
high-pressure reject water that is typically wasted. This pressurized reject
water is recirculated to the back side of the piston to aid the next stroke,
storing energy in the system so there’s less work to get fresh water. Compact,
lightweight and durable for an extremely reliable and long life. Trusted by militaries
and travelers around the globe. Recommended to support one to six people; great
for emergency life rafts and individual survival kits. Weight: 2.5 lbs. Model No: MROD-06-LL-1 ***Will Entertain Reasonable Offers at Less Than the Asking Price*** |

Saab's new 9-5 (2009) leaks early: the first photos
Thu, 23 Jul 2009By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 23 July 2009 09:00 Breaking news: early shots of the new Saab 9-5 have leaked out early in Germany. These low-res photos of the new 9-5 were published online today – revealing an exec that trades on the style that has made Saab's greatest hits so distinctive. There's a hint of old 900 around the C-pillar, lending a dash of coupé style to what remains a defiantly four-door saloon to rival the Audi A6 and other execs. Note also how the side glass graphic slopes rearwards, in Saab's true cockpit style. The face of the new Saab 9-5 is distinguished by a much more dominant grille, with a pair of headlamps ringed with chrome (it works much better than on the current geriatric 9-5, don't worry!) and a prominent Saab name.
Jaguar XF to get 2.2 Diesel: Did Jaguar tell us Porkies?!
Sun, 24 Oct 2010The Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel Spy Photo Back in April – and not for the first time – rumours began to circulate that Jaguar were planning on dropping the 2.2 litre diesel used in the Freelander in to the Jaguar XF. Which did make sense. And the source for the rumour this time round was Top Gear, who we’d expect to have pretty sound sources before they spout speculation.
