This is NOT a transponder key, it has NO chip in it. These car models don't use a transponder key in the US, but out US they may need a key with a chip.

Please make sure your key has no chip inside, otherwise this key will not work in your car.

You can take it to most hardware stores, home improvement centers or locksmith shops to cut it and duplicate your original key.

Alpina has been tinkering with BMW vehicles for close to 50 years and has a rich motorsports history that includes campaigns in European touring car, hill climbing, rally and endurance racing that it stepped away from 20 years ago. Now the racing bug has returned to Alpina with the announcement of its entry into the FIA GT3 European championship series.
