Jeep and Mopar create six concepts

Jeep and Mopar have created six new vehicles in time for the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, which takes place from 31 March to 8 April. The six concepts join around 30 others developed since 2002 by the brands for the pleasure of Jeep enthusiasts. The Department of Energy has just released a mobile app version of its Alternative Fueling Statin Locator, available for download at the iTunes store, that will allow users to find public and private electric charging stations and alternative-fuel station all across the nation. The app displays different types of refueling stations, including biodiesel, CNG, electric, ethanol, hydrogen, LNG, and propane.

Jaguar Land Rover leads UK universities to develop virtual simulation tech

Jaguar Land Rover is to lead four UK universities in a £10m ($15.5m) government scheme to develop virtual simulation technologies and processes to help improve and accelerate the car design process. The carmaker will be leading project teams from the universities of Cambridge, Loughborough, Leeds and Warwick in the Program for Simulation Innovation (PSI), developed to improve the potential of the UK virtual simulation industry. It is hoped that through its results design quality and capability can be improved through the simulation of sights, sounds and smells.
