Hong-ik University Degree Show 2010

2010 saw the students of Korea's Hong-ik University showcase their interpretations of ‘Stimulating urban lifestyles'. The 12th annual degree show at the University centered on creating a ‘Whole new, different kind of urban vehicle.' 18 final year transportation design students took on the brief, with underlying themes such as crash safety, versatility and the ability to adapt the vehicle to suit varying driver needs appearing throughout the students' work. Safety fears over Beatles crossing

Tourists flocking to one of Britain's favourite musical landmarks to recreate the Beatles' Abbey Road crossing could see the addition of a "lollipop lady" to their holiday snaps. Westminster Council has raised safety fears over the "thousands and thousands" of people who visit the zebra crossing, in St John's Wood, north London, made famous by the band in 1969. In some cases, fans are putting themselves at risk of frustrated drivers who often struggle to make it over the crossing because of the constant stream of pedestrians attempting to recreate the image.

McLaren P1: Paris 2012

The McLaren P1 – spiritual successor to the iconic McLaren F1 – has been publicly revealed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Still, we do have more details on the P1 concept that McLaren say will turn in to a production car in 2013 before it finds its way in to the garages of wealthy McLaren customers in 2014. The McLaren P1 is designed to be “…the best driver’s car in the world on road and track” according to McLaren, which is setting the bar a bit higher than high, and the concept P1 at Paris is – at least in terms of what we can see – 95 per cent of what the production model will be.
