KGS REGULATED CONVERTER RG40 28VDC-14VDC 30A

The RG40 is a solid-state, DC to DC switch-mode converter that converts an input DC voltage (27.5 VDC nominal) to a regulated 13.75 VDC output voltage.

The RG40 meets the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) technical standard order TSO-C71 (airborne static DC to DC electrical power converter - for air carrier aircraft).

Two or more RG40's may be paralleled (external diodes required) if additional power is required.

Input Voltage

22 to 41 VDC (27.5 VDC nominal)

Input Current

18.1 ADC at full load (nominal)

Output Voltage

13.75 VDC

Output Current

30.0 ADC at full load

Output Ripple

13.75 mV

Efficiency

80% (minimum)

Load Regulation

1% Line, 1% Load, 1% Temperature

Load Transient Response

Overload Capacity

110% of the rated output power for a period of two hours: 150% of the rated output power for a period of 5 minutes (1 min. at 70°C ambient temp.) Without damage or degradation, the converter will withstand a sustained short circuit and provide 200% of the rated output current for a period of one minute.

Protection Circuit
(Reverse Polarity)

The converter will trip a MIL-C-5809 25 ADC input circuit breaker in the event of reverse polarity input voltage connection

Protection Circuit
(Shutdown)

The converter will shutdown under the following conditions:
Input voltage > 41 VDC (-3 VDC hysteresis)
Input voltage < 15 VDC (-2 VDC hysteresis)
Output voltage > 16 VDC (-2 VDC hysteresis)
Internal temperature > 100°C

Ford offers C-Max Hybrid owners rebates for overstated mpg

Fri, 16 Aug 2013

In the wake of Ford's decision yesterday to lower its fuel mileage estimates on the C-Max hybrid, the company says it will also offer a payment to C-Max hybrid owners and lease holders for the estimated average fuel cost between the new and former mpg figures. Owners will get a check for $550 while lessees will get $325. The window sticker on the C-Max hybrid will now read 43 mpg, instead of the originally promised 47 mpg.

Volkswagen joins Global Rallycross with Foust and Speed

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

The biggest splash at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show might have been made by Volkswagen on Thursday. The giant German automaker, along with Andretti Autosport, unveiled its 560-hp, all-wheel-drive Global Rallycross Beetle. GRC champion Tanner Foust will pilot the first car while ex-Formula One driver Scott Speed will helm the second.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK revealed

Thu, 13 Jan 2011

Following its premature unveiling in a French-language marketing video late last year, Mercedes-Benz has now issued official photographs of the new SLK. Set to make its debut at the German carmaker's 125th birthday celebrations in Stuttgart at the end of January--prior to North American sales beginning this summer--the popular two-seat roadster was thoroughly re-engineered with a new rear-wheel-drive platform and more contemporary engine and gearbox combinations. The car will make its auto-show debut in Geneva.
