All-electric Nissan trialled in London

THE CITY OF LONDON Corporation has completed a successful trial of the 100% electric Nissan e-NV200 van as part of efforts to meet the highest levels of environmental responsibility across all areas of its operations. After a similarly successful trial of the 100% electric Nissan LEAF earlier this year, Nissan offered the City of London Corporation the chance to try the e-NV200. The City Corporation – the local authority services provider for the ‘Square Mile’ – supports and promotes the City as the world’s leading international financial centre.

Lexus takes Gen XY on a 'Dark Ride'

Lexus' small CT 200h hybrid won't go on sale until February, but a short online movie called Dark Ride is already promoting the vehicle and reaching out to younger buyers. Lexus and its ad agency, Skinny, aim to generate excitement among consumers 16 to 44 -- known as Gen XY. That demographic is a far cry from the median age of Lexus' owners -- 57.

Chrysler races to upgrade its lineup

In a bid to improve its lineup before a fleet of new Fiat-based vehicles arrives in 2012, Chrysler Group is rushing new features and equipment into 15 reworked vehicles. The equipment, such as a Fiat dual-clutch, six-speed transmission and a new Chrysler V6, will boost fuel economy, improve driving dynamics and spiff up drab interiors, all areas in which Chrysler has fared poorly in consumer surveys. All the vehicles will be on sale by the first quarter of next year.
