Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S (2007): first official pictures
Tue, 28 Aug 2007By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 28 August 2007 11:10 Super-saloon It is, but Quattroporte sounds better than ‘four-door’ - which is the literal translation - and when the whole thing is said in an Italian accent then there are few more evocative names on the market. Add Sport GT S to that and you’re now looking at the most focused Quattroporte yet. Audi, Honda, Hyundai, and GM to bring Android to cars
Tue, 07 Jan 2014General Motors, Audi, Honda and Hyundai have joined forces with Google and Nvidia to form the Open Automotive Alliance (OAA), their overarching goal being the integration of Google's Android software into automotive infotainment systems. The OAA will use Android's open development model to bring a greater variety of functions to car infotainment systems, which have noticeably lagged behind smartphones when it comes to capability due to long development periods, fast changing technology, and a glut variety of incompatible systems. The alliance's first order of business will be to develop new Android platform features to enable the car to become a connected Android device.
Andy Saunders sells 'Art Cars' collection
Tue, 04 Nov 2008British 'car artist' Andy Saunders' 'Art Car' collection was sold by RM Auctions in London, UK on October 29, along with a selection of classic cars and a McLaren F1 that sold for £2.5 million - a new world record. Though lacking the quality of many Californian custom cars when seen close up, the Art Cars were fascinating to see, and unlike other custom car creators, Saunders has made almost all of the cars for himself; conceiving and creating the cars without any design process beyond thinking them through and getting his hands dirty in evenings after work. Each of the cars introduced new themes not evident in their donor designs and, within the context of many salubrious but established classic car designs at the auction, they had a powerful quixotic appeal. So why is he selling them?
