You are bidding on a Brand New .300" Kinsler Tough Pump with 4 Port Manifold and Adjustable Flange, Reverse Rotation (Part #TP030041).

The Kinsler Tough Fuel Pump is engineered to withstand the punishment of competitive Sprint Car and Midget Racing.  Each fuel pump is equipped with an adjustable or "SWIVEL" flange.  After mounting the fuel pump, the flange clamp bolt can be loosened to allow for easy rotation and alignment of your fuel pump.  Simply re-tighten the flange clamp bolt once the fuel pump has been properly positioned.

Features

  • .300" Gear Set
  • 4 Port Manifold features Four -6 AN Outlets.  This manifold is designed to ease and simplify plumbing
  • -12 AN Inlet
  • 3-bolt adjustable mounting flange included
  • Reverse Rotation:
    • Driven off the rear of the camshaft, or belt-driven
    • Looking at the open end of this Kinsler pump, the shaft rotates clockwise
  • These pumps are typically mounted to a Power Steering Pump, such as a KSE (shown below), or mounted directly to the motor plate, but the adjustable 3 bolt flange allows them to be used in several other situations
  • Standard one-piece hex shaft;  we do have these pumps with Kinsler's new 2 piece "female" hex shaft, which allows for a small amount of misalignment;  you can see those here
  • Flow tested and ready to race
  • One-piece gear shaft:
    • High alloy steel, case hardened, precision ground, then proprietary coated.  Doesn't allow any radial movement of the gear on the shaft, thus maintaining correct clearance between the gear teeth tips and the housing.  A two-piece gear and shaft introduces more tolerance, which can allow the tips to scrape the gear cavity walls.  This pump can ingest and spit out dirt that would fail other pumps.
  • Rock solid housing:
    • Evolved through housing deflection vs. pressure tests.  This final design is the strongest in the industry, combined with twelve 10-32 studs to super secure the extra rigid cover.
  • Steady flow at Extreme RPM:
    • The inlet port comes straight into the gears rather than making a 90 degree turn, like most pumps.  This combined with special internal design features to feed the fuel to the gears gives EXCELLENT TOP end performance....up to 7,000 pump RPM (14,000 engine RPM) without cavitation. The larger bearings are rated at 2,000 more pump RPM than those of other pumps.
  • Pressure balance plate system:
    • Kinsler's gear side plates are high alloy steel, heat treated very hard, ground to a 6 micro-inch finish, with end-to-end flatness of 0.0001".  These are coated with a harder-than-carbide composite, then lapped to a 2 micro-inch mirror finish.  This coating is so smooth that the torque required to drive this pump is significantly reduced.  One plate is movable. It has pump outlet pressure fed under it to keep it in constant contact with the gear faces, which gives minimum pump output flow drop vs. pressure, and compensates for housing expansion due to temperature and wear.  For excellent priming during engine cranking, two coil springs keep the plate in contact with the gear faces.
  • Inlet and outlet bolt-on-fittings allow a larger diameter inlet port for better flow and keep the housing strong because it isn't tapped for a large fitted thread.
  • Pump length and diameter, mounting nose diameter and pump mounting bracket are industry standard.  Will bolt on where any Hilborn, Waterman, DSR or Enderle pump does
  • To prevent pressure from reaching the shaft seal, a static brass sleeve around the drive shaft is sealed to the housing and to the moveable plate by O-rings. This reduces the possibility of a seal leak and reduces friction on the drive shaft, because pressure is not forcing the seal lip to grip down onto the shaft... gives longer seal life and less drive torque.  The seal cavity is vented back into the inlet side of the pump to further insure that there is no pressure on the seal.  A snap ring positively locates the seal.
  • Each pump is flow tested, run in for two-hours, then re-flow tested before shipping.
  • We also have this pump available:
  • Commonly used for Sprint Cars & Midgets, including Maxim, J&J, Eagle, Triple X, JEI, Schnee, Shaw, Beast, Stealth, Spike, Bullet, Twister, and almost all other Sprint Car & Midget Chassis, in all series including World of Outlaws, ASCS, All-Star, OCRS, USAC, POWRi, etc.

Englon TXN from Geely. The new London Taxi? No Chance.

Mon, 12 Apr 2010

Englon TXN by Geely - supposedly on Tower Bridge A couple of weeks ago we regaled you with the sorry story of the London Cab falling in to Chinese hands. It wasn’t the most shocking story considering how feeble the London Cab has become in comparison to newer offerings like the Mercedes Taxi – which is taking a big chunk of sales from the traditional cab – but still sad to see the iconic London Taxi end up this way. London Taxis International already sourced most of the parts for the TX4 from China and just bolted them together here.

The Citroen C1 ev'ie - the UK's first proper all electric car - launched today Based (obviously) on Citroen’s baby C1, the C1 ev’ie aims to be as car-like as possible, but offering all the economies (and most of the drawbacks!) of an electric car. The donor cars are supplied by Citroen  UK and the company claims that 50% of the value of the car is generated in the UK with the conversion to all electric drive. Designed to have a range of 60-70 miles this is a city car, pure and simple.

2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed Preview: A Jaguar-fest

Sat, 19 Mar 2011

Yasmin Le Bon and the original E-Type Roadster at Goodwood FoS Preview It’s a cold, wet and miserable day and feels more like November than March. So it’s hard to think in terms of the sun shining on the Goodwood Estate, and cars roaring up the Hillclimb, as you stand with a cold beer in hand and soak up the atmosphere. But despite the weather it’s time for Goodwood to present to the 2011 Festival of Speed to the press, and yesterday’s preview turned in to something of a Jaguar spectacular.
