The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, the next significant salvo into the small-car segment, will arrive in September with a base price of just $16,995. The Cruze, which rides on General Motors' global small-car underpinnings called Delta, is the company's most important small vehicle in years. Maserati GranCabrio at Frankfurt

Maserati will be launching the Maserati GranCabrio at Frankfurt It’s taken Maserati a year or three to cobble together the Convertible GranTurismo, but they’ve finally got there and the new car is Christened – The Maserati GranCabrio – and will launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Unlike its cousin the Ferrari California, the GranCabrio gets a folding rag-top instead of a tin-top, which should help keep the inevitable weight gains for a cabrio in check. But it’s still not going to be light at pushing on two tonnes.

Corvette ZR1 'Blue Devil' freed from sinkhole

Update: Video of the ZR1 removal added below. Workers at the National Corvette Museum have begun removing eight cars from the bottom of a sinkhole that appeared inside the museum's Skydome last month. The first car to make it back to ground level is the 2009 Corvette ZR1 prototype nicknamed "Blue Devil." Incredibly, the ZR1 reportedly cranked right up and even made it to the doorway of the Skydome under its own power.
