BMW recalls 2002-05 3-series for light defect

BMW is recalling 241,000 copies of the 3-series in the United States to fix a rear light defect that could lead to crashes. The problem affects rear lights--taillights, brake lights and turn signals--which may only work intermittently. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall covers model years 2002 to 2005 of the 325i, the 325xi, the 330i and the 330xi.

Range Rover Evoque Cosworth: the faster Evoque

The new Range Rover Evoque is soon to rub shoulders with British tuning specialist Project Kahn. This teaser picture has surfaced online, suggesting a full-on makeover, showing off go-faster stripes and Cosworth branding to give the Evoque a sporty edge. Kahn is rumoured to be working on Ford's 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which has plenty of scope for tuning. The Blue Oval produces a maximum of 240bhp in its current applications.  Alex Yeung of Kahn Designs confirmed the project to CAR.

Second new London taxi of 2014 unveiled

LONDONERS had better prepare themselves for another new generation of taxi, just days after Nissan confirmed its own assault on the Black Cab market. The plug-in hybrid Fraser-Nash Range Extended Electric Metrocab is capable of more than 75mpg and less than 50g/km of CO2, and is expected to cost no more than a current Hackney carriage. The company says the vehicle could save cabbies £30 to £40 per day in running costs and can go longer between fill-ups.
