    Toyota's global design chief Tokuo Fukuichi will be the first designer to sit on the company's board of directors when his appointment comes into effect on 1 April. Fukuichi will retain his position as global head of design for the Toyota, Lexus and Scion brands and will join the board after the general shareholders' meeting. His influence on Toyota's design direction over the last few years has been noticeable, particularly with Lexus, as the company strives to make its traditionally very conservative products a little more exciting.

    Lotus has revealed a limited edition Exige S - the Scura / Stealth Based on the Lotus Exige, the Scura manages to coax an extra 40bhp from its 1.8 litre Toyota supercharged engine, offering 260 of Hethel’s finest horses to play with. That will see the Scura get to 60mph in 4 seconds and break 10 seconds to 100mph. Top speed is 152mph.

    "No way," was the statement from Ford design chief J Mays when asked whether the redesigned 2014 Ford Mustang will be another retro job. He says the next iteration of the pony car will follow a different road. The design for the next Ford Mustang is currently being "locked down," according to Mays.
