Technical Trouble Shooting |
Q: Why is the level gauge reading backwards (reading full when tank should be empty, reading empty when tank should be full)? |
- That means the gauge and the sending unit are using different standards (one may be using American standard, 240 ohm at empty, 30 ohms at full; the other may be using European standard, 0 ohms empty, 180 ohms at full), hence, are not compatible.
- Only solution would be to replace either the gauge or the sending unit so that both are using either European Standard or American Standard ohm range.
|
Q: Does Wema carry a fuel sender that can be shortened in length? |
- Yes, the length of the High Resolution Capacitance Level Sensor (CLS) can be shortened and signal output re-calibrated.
|
Q: What lengths do the standard units come in? |
- SSS/SSL
- Available 4" through 18.5" at 0.5" increments
- Available 19" through 60" at 1" increments
- S3U and S5U
- Available 4" through 60" at 1" increments
- SHS/SHST
- 4", 6", 8", 12", 16", 18", 20", 22", 24", 28", 38"
|
Q: Are the level senders or gauges NMEA 2000 certified or compatible? |
- Currently the gauges are not compatible with the NMEA 2000 system. The level senders can be made compatible by connecting it to a signal converter module.
|
|
Gauges |
Q: What are the input signals for the gauges? |
- The signal input for our stock gauges are 240-33 ohms American Standard and 0-180 ohms, European Standards
|
Q: What type of signals does the Tachometer take? |
- The tachometer can process both sine and square signals.
|
Q: What is the operating voltage for the gauges? |
- The gauge can work with both 12V and 24V systems. When connecting to a 24V system, certain gauge will require a drop resistor on the connection between the power and the gauge.
|
Q: How to test if the level gauge is operating correctly? |
- Make sure power to the gauge is not on.
- Disconnect the black wire on the gauge to the sender. Leave enough wire at the gauge end to work with.
- Turn on the power to the gauge
- Inspect the
- American standard gauges (240-30 ohms) will show Empty. Ground the black wire, and the needle will go to Full
- European standard gauges (0-180 ohms) will show Full. Ground the black wire, and the needle will go to Empty
|
Q: How come the Navigation Gauge is not working? |
- If you recently switch the bulb on your vessel from incandescent bulbs to the equivalent LED counterparts, you need to reconnect the wires from the B1-B5 terminal to the L1-L5 terminal. Please see attached instruction.
|
Q: Are the gauge dials backlit? |
- Yes, the gauge dials are backlit with LEDs.
|
Q: Do the gauges only work with Wema senders and sensors? |
- No, the gauges can work senders and sensors from other companies as long as both are compatible (both American standard units, or both European standard units).

Group 20 has been wound up by the courts, along with sister car finance companies Vehicle Options Ltd and Vehicle Options Fleet Ltd.All three companies were investigated by the Insolvency Service after complaints, CAR can reveal.Group 20 supercar club: what went wrong? The supercar club started trading in 2006 and used a network of franchisees to sell membership to the club. Over time, Group 20 expanded to boast a rental list of exotica worth around £2 million; local newspaper reports in the Medway Messenger reveal Group 20 boasted a Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911, Bentley Continental GTC and, most impressively, a Zonda F Roadster on its books. However, the Companies Investigation Branch of the Insolvency Service found that Group 20 and its parent company had numerous ‘misleading business practices’.

Using provocative words such as “guilty” and “fearful,” Nissan Design America chief Bruce Campbell was blunt in his assessment of the current state of car styling: There's too much sameness. Speaking at the AW Design Forum on Thursday morning in Detroit, Campbell pulled no punches, pointing to the bad economy, global design--and fear--as reasons for blandness in sheetmetal. “We are guilty of this sameness.

The Volvo Concept XC Coupe (pictured) will debut at Detroit next month
Volvo are heading to the Detroit Auto Show next month with the second of three concepts planned utilising their new scalable platform architecture which will underpin almost all future models – the Volvo Concept XC Coupe. The first of the three new concepts from Volvo came at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in September as the Volvo Concept Coupe – a new take on Volvo’s iconic P1800 – but this time we get a concept that points firmly at the new Volvo XC90, due in a year’s time as a 2015 model. We’ve already got some idea of what Volvo’s designers think the new XC90 should look like, but the styling cues on the Concept Coupe – and the teaser photos of the Concept XC Coupe (above) – give us a much clearer view of what Volvo are planning for one of their most successful cars.
