John Lennon's Ferrari won't be sold

The John Lennon Ferrari, a blue 1965 "Quad Headlight" 330 GT 2+2, reported as serial number 06781GT, will not be offered for sale on Saturday as scheduled. Citing a case of "vendor's remorse," a Bonhams representative said this was a last-minute decision on the part of the seller. Lennon's Ferrari had garnered a good bit of publicity in the past few weeks.

McLaren are out in force for the Goodwood Festival of Speed weekend with the 2013 MP4-12C, 2011 F1 cars and the GREAT GT3 12C. Today sees the start of the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed with the Moving Motor Show ahead of the weekend’s real petrolhead fun, and McLaren are out in force. The 2013 McLaren MP4-12C will be on show for the first time complete with its extra 25bhp, programmable engine note, remote passenger door opening and extra trim options.

Wiedeking to be offered $140 million to quit Porsche, report says

Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking could be offered a $141 million (100 million euros) payoff to quit the sports car maker to make way for a merger with Volkswagen, Germany's Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported Friday. The newspaper said Wiedeking has been visited by Porsche Chairman Wolfgang Porsche in the past few days, who “made it clear” that the embattled CEO should step down. Wiedeking has come under fire for allowing Porsche's holding company to amass debts of more than $12.7 billion (9 billion euros) during a failed attempt to take over VW.
