Reliant 'Rugged Robin' is ready for battle
Thu, 28 Jun 2012The Reliant Robin has a loyal cult following that is characterized mainly by racing and funky paint jobs, but one man in England has taken the task of defending the Robin's honor to a whole new level. Bernard Reeves of East Sussex in the United Kingdom told the Daily Mail that he got fed up with Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson's ridicule of the Robin, most notably in a film containing footage of Clarkson rolling a Robin multiple times before pushing it into a canal. Sat, 24 Apr 2010Earlier this year, we told you about Underground Racing, a shop in Charlotte, N.C., that makes a business out of upgrading Lamborghinis with twin turbochargers to boost engine output to more than 1,000 hp. Now, a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera upfitted by Underground Racing cracked the 250-mph mark at the Texas Mile event. Car owner Richard Holt made the 250.1-mph run in late March, but video was posted just this week.

Sat, 09 Aug 2014The first Lexus NX rolls off the production line We’re not entirely sure the new Lexus NX – revealed in production guise at the Beijing Motor Show in April - will be one of the most driver-focused compact SUVs, but it is a car that should see Lexus sales rise considerably. And the NX is now starting to roll off the production line at Lexus’s Miyata plant in Japan, and Lexus say they already have 6,500 orders for the NX in Japan, and a more modest 350 in the UK. The big seller in the UK – in the absence of a diesel NX – will be the NX 300h with its hybrid setup of a 2.5 litre petrol engine, electric motor and CVT gearbox, but despite promises of good economy (55.4mpg) the real world economy is likely to be significantly less, although its high headline economy will help BIK rates for business buyers.
