Nike's 'Making' app: helping designers choose most sustainable materials
Tue, 09 Jul 2013As we're told more and more frequently about the impact of our environmental footprint on the world, it's no surprise that companies of all disciplines are examining their processes to cut emissions and waste. Now Nike has entered the fray by developing a free app giving designers a deeper insight of how green their material choices are. The sportswear giant's new free ‘Making' app allows designers to examine the sustainability of 22 different product materials such as cotton, silk and grass-fed leather.
Saab secures more funds as it seeks to avert collapse
Mon, 27 Jun 2011Saab parent Swedish Automobiles has found another financial lifeline in China as the struggling carmaker faces possible legal action from unions over unpaid wages. In a statement this morning, Swedish Automobiles announced that an un-named Chinese firm has placed an order for 582 Saab vehicles, valued at 13 million Euro (£11.5m) with full pre-payment 'expected to be made this week'. And they’re at it again with the new Jaguar XE. Jaguar has launched their FEEL XE marketing campaign for the XE today, ahead of its debut in London on 8 September, and are putting the talented Emeli Sandé at the front, although there will also be appearances by Stella McCartney and Idris Elba as the XE campaign progresses.
