The 200tdi and 300tdi reconditioning process starts with the selection of engines from vehicles that have had no engine modifications, show healthy engine characteristics and no signs of abusive ownership.  Our partner garage in the UK, ALServices selects these engines and carries out the following system of reconditioning.

  • The engines are stripped, cleaned and undergo the following reconditioning.
  • Blocks are tested, rebored and honed to first oversize bore
  • Cranks are reground or polished and refitted with new main bearings
  • New pistons, big end bearings and rings are fitted first oversize
  • New heads are installed with new valves and springs
  • Cam shafts and bearings are checked, measured and replaced where needed
  • The engines are fitted with all new seals, plugs, belts and gaskets
  • They receive 4 new injectors
  • 4 new glow plugs

  • New timing belt, idler and tensioner

Details of BMW's latest addition have been officially released. The new 1 Series Coupe - which will be available as both a 128i and a 135i  when it goes on sale in North America - is a modern interpretation of the classic 2002, with a front-engine and rear-drive configuration. As expected, the new car looks a lot like a 1 Series hatch; the biggest difference being the newly created rear end.

The chassis, which employs four different types of carbonfibre, will be the central component of the V12 model, which will employ an F1-style KERS system and over 800bhp with which to challenge the McLaren P1. Volkswagen Suzuki Partnership - things aren't exactly rosy Back in 2009 Volkswagen invested a rather large chunk of change (around €2 billion) in Suzuki in exchange for a 20% stake in the Japanese car maker, and there were big hopes for advantages for both parties. Volkswagen were looking for a quick-fix route to the burgeoning car market in India, where Suzuki were doing very well, with sales in India last year of 1.13 million cars – almost half its production – in comparison to VW’s paltry sales of just 53,000. In return, Suzuki were expecting to get a quick route to cutting-edge hybrid and electric tech for their range, and access to VW’s engines.
