Brian Wilson on the Beach Boys' car songs

Brian Wilson, the musical giant behind so much of the Beach Boys great music, sang at the Petersen gala in Los Angeles last week, and there were plenty of songs about cars and drag racing in the mix. "We're going to do a series of car songs because this place has a lot of cars," Wilson announced before leading his 10-piece band into "Little Deuce Coupe," "409," "All Summer Long" and "Shut Down." The band played to a packed house at the museum's annual fundraiser. Wilson's set was surely the most entertaining in the Petersen's 15 years of fundraising galas.

Interior Motives returned once more to the exciting city of Shanghai for its second China design conference, themed ‘China: Changing the landscape of car design'. Held straight after the first Shanghai auto show press day - a day topped off by the Car Design Night, attended by some 300 or so designers - this two-day event saw 27 of the world's foremost car design experts and nearly 250 delegates gather together to debate the future of Chinese car design. 'First Aid' penalty notice scrapped

A MOTORIST who received a penalty ticket when a camera car spotted her in a loading bay in Bristol after pulling over to administer first aid to an injured cyclist has had it cancelled. Janet Young had gone to help the cyclist in Church Road, St George, after he clipped a pavement and came off his bike. Mrs Young, a receptionist from Bristol, said despite the ticket she would do the same thing again.
