BMW EfficientDynamics hybrid supercar: production confirmed
Fri, 05 Nov 2010BMW today gave the green light for production of the dramatic Vision EfficientDynamics hybrid supercar shown at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. Munich admitted today that the tech underpinning the concept car was 'completely or virtually production-ready' and said that the car will be launched very much as shown in Frankfurt. It has started roadgoing tests of the 2+2 EfficientDynamics sports car and its three-cylinder turbodiesel hybrid system.

The milestone will be celebrated (naturally) with a limited run of special ‘World Record Edition’ Grand Sport Vitesses (which has been on sale since January 2012), with the commemorative cars sporting orange flashes to the carbonfibre bodywork, and orange wheels. Car insurance cost at four-year low
Thu, 10 Apr 2014THE COST of insuring a car has fallen to a four-year low as motorists benefit from a record 19% drop in average premiums compared with a year ago. The Confused.com car insurance price index, in association with Towers Watson, reveals the average cost of comprehensive car insurance in the first quarter stood at £596, a drop of £140 against this time last year. The figure, including a reduction of 7.5% on the previous quarter, means that average premiums have dipped below £600 for the first time since late 2009.
