This auction is for a Milled Aluminum Side Air Intake Vent Grill for a 300Tdi, Td5, or Puma Land Rover Defender 90 / 110 / 130 (all aforementioned are interchangeable…but sorry, will not fit the 200Tdi intake - please see our other auctions for the 200Tdi intake).  These units are manufactured out of solid aluminum, and each unit has been professionally powdercoated black to give it a long-lasting, durable, and aesthetic finish.

It is a replacement for the Land Rover genuine part # BTR6188, for the cheap, plastic, factory side intake vent that can weather, crack, and break over time (particularly the small retaining pins that hold the vent in place).

This vent offered here is a great upgrade, and not only dresses up your Defender but is exceptionally more durable than the cheap plastic vent.  Milled from 1/4" thick solid aluminum and powdercoated in satin/semigloss black, they are guaranteed to withstand the test of time, elements, and whatever you can throw at your Land Rover.

This vent is a very simple upgrade, the only thing I’ll point out is that the factory vent uses 5 small “pins” to keep the vent in place – these pins frequently snap and break off, leaving the plastic vent literally hanging on by a pin or two (not very sturdy).  The holes for the milled aluminum vent use these same 5 “pin” holes for the 5 mounting screws (mainly for the sake of symmetry, as seen below indicated by the red arrows in the last photo). And please note you may need to remove the “female” end of the pin mounts from the vehicle itself so the mounting screws will fit into place, but absolutely no drilling of bodywork is required.
