For sale is a used R380 5 Speed Transmission with the V8 Bellhousing. This was removed from a Land Rover Discovery I condition unknown, so spares or repairs. Also will fit a manual Range Rover Classic with a manual transmission and V8 engine. With a shifter conversion, will fit a Defender Style 90, 110, or 130. Shipping is at the buyers expense. We will drop this off at the shipper of your choice or deliver to a Fastenal via third party logistics and ship to a Fastenal store near you. First check your local Fastenal location to be sure it is close enough for you to pick up the transmission. Shipping is estimated at $150, but may cost more or less. While we will refund any over payment you may be required to pay an additional shipping charge. We ship for the actual shipping amount, so no additional fees, free crating. If you make your own shipping arrangements, we will refund the entire $150. Will not fit Land Rover 4 cylinder engines. We have conversion kits for transplanting the 1980s era Mercedes OM617 5 cylinder Turbo Diesel into the 90, 110 and also the Series IIA or Series III and the engine fits without any real modifications. British team, trusty Fiat Panda set new Africa run record
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The Fiat Panda driving team consisting of British rally drivers Philip Young and Paul Brace arrived in London today, setting a new record time for the 10,000-mile Cape Town, South Africa to London run in the process. With their time of 10 days, 13 hours and 30 minutes, the team managed to break two records: one for the Cape Town to London run and one for the run between the two cities (in either direction). The former previously stood at 14 days, 19 hours and 26 minutes, while the latter was 11 days, 14 hours and 11 minutes.
Nissan Leaf gets battery warranty boost
Fri, 28 Dec 2012Nissan Motor Co. plans to bolster the warranty of the battery module in its electric Leaf to reassure consumers of its durability. The company intends to notify current owners and dealers early next year that it will make the warranty retroactive to cover all existing Leafs, offering to repair or replace the car’s lithium-ion battery if it loses more than 30 percent of its ability to hold a charge after five years or 60,000 miles.
