Chrysler's V8 coupe moves closer to production

By Nick Trott Motor Industry 21 August 2006 00:02 Chrysler's V8 Firepower concept is moving closer to production, thanks to a plan to push the Dodge Viper upmarket, creating a Firepower-shaped gap in Chrysler Group's portfolio. Sources suggest that the 2008 Viper will have a new chassis and an engine co-developed by McLaren, DaimlerChrysler's F1 partner. A precedent for this has already been set.

Renault UK has produced adverts for the new 2013 Renault Clio that feature a ‘Va Va Voom’ button to transport UK drivers to the heart of Paris. Mired in the problems of over-capacity, a stroppy workforce and a world that has fallen out of love with mainstream hatches, the new Clio needs to sell. And sell well.

VW's evergreen Golf GTI hot hatch is back for the seventh time, sporting its highest-ever power output, performance and economy. You can choose a regular 217bhp GTI or upgrade to 227bhp with a 'performance pack', and fuel economy is said to be 18% better than the Mk6 GTI's. It's on sale this spring, priced around £26k.
