This auction is for an old, original, authentic lead plate for the Ford and Mercury flathead V8 from 1932-48. It requires a 3 bolt front cover. This is the part that makes it much easier to set the timing when you are using a Harman Collins magneto or other vintage ignition system. There is some wear in the area where the nuts hold the two pieces together, doesn't hurt anything, just use a little larger diameter washers. It has also had another set of holes drilled in the back part of the plate to turn the ignition to a slightly different angle. It would be fun to know the history of this vintage racing part.
