Wed, 12 Sep 2012Nissan has revealed theĀ TeRRA Concept – a 4WD hydrogen fuel cell electric car – heading for a debut at the Paris Motor Show. With the Paris Motor Show getting ever closer, the reveals are starting to come thick and fast. The Nissan TeRRA Concept is a hydrogen-powered SUV using electric motors from the LEAF with a chunk of its powertrain under the bonnet driving the front wheels and an an electric motor on each rear wheel, all powered bt a hydrogen fuel cell under the boot floor.
McLaren P1 gets 903bhp
Wed, 20 Feb 2013McLaren has revealed that their new supercar – the McLaren P1 – will deliver 903bhp and have emissions below 200g/km. The McLaren P1 will get 727bhp from its 3.8 litre V8 with an additional 176bhp coming from an electric motor for a combined power delivery of 903bhp, with the V8 contributing 531lb/ft of torque and the electric motor an instant 192lb/ft for a combined torque of 664lb/ft at 4000rpm. The boost from the electric motor is instantly available at the flick of a button on the steering wheel – McLaren call itĀ Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) – which instantly throws more additional power to aid the McLaren’s V8 than a pair of Fiestas can manage.

But GM’s problems and now Saab’s takeover by Koenigsegg have conspired to delay the new 9-5, but it now looks clear that it will launch officially at Frankfurt in September.
