SAIC's Mobiliant wins 2013 LA Design Challenge

SAIC has been revealed as the winner of this year's LA Design Challenge. The Chinese carmaker's entry, a single-seat urban public transit vehicle, was declared the victor after intense judging sessions took place throughout the LA auto show's second press day. The panel – which included Tom Matano, executive director, School of Industrial Design at San Francisco's Academy of Art University, and Stewart Reed, chair of Transportation Design at Pasadena's Art Center College of Design – combed through the entries, discussing their merits and how closely they fit the brief, before hearing the teams' presentations in the afternoon.

Russian Grand Prix (2014): RESULT Lewis Hamilton has seemed unassailable in recent races, and the deficit he had in the Drivers Championship has turned in to a small lead over team mate Nico Rosberg. But can he continue to increase his lead in the first Russian F1 Grand Prix in Sochi? In fact, Hamilton won the race in style, leading from start to finish after Nico Rosberg attempted an overtake at the first corner, went in too deep and locked up and had to pit for new tyres – effectively gifting Hamilton the race almost before it started.

The Nissan Qazana shot testing - complete with what looks like bin-bag disguise I know, it’s not the easiest thing to work out from the picture above, but this is Nissan’s sub Qashqai Crossover – the Nissan Qazana – caught out testing recently. Which goes to show that the Qazana is well on track for amid 2010 launch and production at Nissan’s Sunderland plant. The Qazana – when it debuted at Geneva this year – was a daring concept, to say the least.
