Clarkson's voiceover for TomTom SatNav cancelled It seemed like a cracking plan for all concerned to get Jeremy Clarkson to add a voiceover for a TomTom SatNav, particularly with the Top Gear live show rapidly approaching and a million children starting to wonder what on earth they can get dad for Christmas. But it looks like someone has dropped a big clanger as it’s been revealed that getting Jezza to attach his voice – and name – to a TomTom SatNav breaches the BBC’s editorial guidelines. As a non-commercial organisation (although that’s extremely debatable when it comes to BBC Worldwide) the Beeb has to make sure it’s not seen to be promoting any particular products and, more importantly, that its on-air talent aren’t entering in to commercial agreements for products they are associated with.

Kia isn't giving much away about its Frankfurt-bound concept car, indeed it hasn't even released its name yet, referring to it as the 'four-door sports sedan concept.' The press release talks of it as 'signalling a distinctive new design direction' for the Korean brand, yet the now-familiar 'tiger-nose' grille and Optima-esque A-pillar/cant rail/C-pillar highlight are very much in evidence. "No matter from which perspective you look at it - this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off," says Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer."I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter." Fiat Panda - now with cleaner Euro 5 engines The Fiat Panda has now gone on sale in the UK with a new range of Euro 5 compliant engines. Which it has to; Fiat can no longer sell cars that don’t comply with the new Euro 5 regulations. And although we have issues with legislating CO2 emissions, we positively support the ever-increasing restrictions on NOx and Particulate Matter. This is the stuff that actually matters, and Euro 5 toughens-up the limits.
