LED-IN Lights Car Parking Guidance System

This home parking alignment DIY kit uses LED light strips to guide you when parking your vehicle straight into a confined space. It is for use with motor-driven overhead type garage doors. This kit includes DIY installation instructions, parts list, alignment instructions, a drawing and pre-assembled components of LED-IN Lights Car Parking.

This is a visual alignment system similar to those used at major airports to guide pilots of airliners to their terminal gate parking position. Alignment of the aircraft at the gate is critical for the passenger air bridge to fit correctly and for positioning of support equipment around the aircraft.

This DIY home garage car parking system uses Green and Red colored LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) light strips to guide your car from outside your garage straight into it's parking spot by you using small turn corrections as required to keep the Green LED light strip between the two Red LED light strips. The Green and Red LED light strips are powered by 110 VAC electricity through a Power Converter to 12 VDC. The source of the 110 VAC is from the light bulb socket at your garage door motor. This light normally comes on whenever the garage door is opened, then turns off after a few minutes.

For accurate Stop positioning, you can just put a mark or tape across the Red LED light strips and a corresponding one on the Green LED light strip. When the marks meet, STOP.

There are STOP position systems available which use technologies such as: lasers, infrared, radar, ultrasonic, parking mats, bump pads and tire stop curbs. However, a tennis ball suspended from the ceiling which touches your windshield at the stop position is a good fail-safe method. It is even easy to rig the tennis ball string through eyelets to the garage door itself which will retract the ball out of the way when the garage door is closed. The tennis ball will drop back down to it's original position the next time the garage door is opened. This item is an additional $2.95. If you would like to add the “tennis ball on a string”, please pay for this additional order item at check out.

New Bugatti 'could be too fast to test'

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

THE UPCOMING replacement for the world's fastest luxury car could be too quick to test, according to a motoring magazine. Bugatti is looking to replace the famous Veyron with a new, faster model that could reach speeds of around 286mph, but questions have been raised by weekly title Autocar over whether the facilities will exist to test it to its maximum. Not only is space a concern for the 1,500-horsepower concept, because it will need much longer straights than the Veyron, but also tyres are an issue.

Autodesk European Automotive Days 2008

Tue, 28 Oct 2008

The 2008 Autodesk European Automotive Days conference was held last week in Munich, bringing together 200 automotive design and visualization experts. Autodesk presented their strategy and vision for industrial design, with an emphasis on 'digital prototyping', where even at the concept stage the digital model is treated not just as a set of surfaces, but is integrated within the engineering process as as a functional digital prototype, with the aim to eventually replace physical models entirely. There was also a recognition that traditional techniques continue to have an important place alongside digital workflows, as the workflows and technologies continue to evolve.
