It’s long been rumoured that BMW has an interest in acquiring De Tomaso to give it a proper supercar brand to rival the offerings from the VW group. Sebastian Vettel has taken pole position for Red Bull at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The heavy rain at Interlagos managed to delay Q3, but Vettel was as impressive as he has been for the rest of the season to continue the run of Red Bull poles, followed by Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes in second and Fernando Alonso took third place, his equal best starting place this season.
Winners and Losers: Porsche sales pop in April
Wed, 04 May 2011Porsche sales spiked 82 percent in April and are up 46 percent for the year, parking the luxury automaker among the top five winners so far for 2011. The redesigned Cayenne made the biggest contribution, with sales up an eye-popping 384 percent from last April and 141 percent for this year. Porsche counted 1,578 copies of the Cayenne sold in April, versus 326 the year before.
