I have been repairing outboards for the last 15 years in Boulder City, NV and I begun working with propane outboards last year and found them fascinating.

I love these outboard motors, they are so simple to fix that I spent the last 12 months buying all used ones available in the U.S. and servicing them to new specs, no matter if there were running well. By servicing and emission testing them to new specs I can be completely sure about the product I'm selling.

Most of them were used for a short period of time and then were sold, thinking that they had a serious problem, not knowing that by following a few simple steps you can make them very reliable without the hassles of their gasoline counterparts. It is a new technology so some service guys cannot figure out how they work.

I even test all of them indoors and the emissions are so low that they don’t even trigger the smoke detector!!

I have a 9.9hp myself which I use every weekend to cruise along Lake Mead and without polluting our precious water.

I highly recommend owning one of these for the following reasons:

1-   -Save tons of money in fuel.

2-   -Leave it for as long as you want without use and it will start on a blink. (Gasoline motors usually tend to build up gum after a month or two)

3-   -Very low emissions.

4-   -Spark plugs will not foul and oil remains clean for longer periods of time. (no oil thinning due to excess gasoline ex. during cold start period)

California rules give push to 'green' vehicles in the near future

Fri, 27 Jan 2012

California regulators on Friday approved a plan that would require 15.4 percent of new vehicles sold in the state be electric, fuel-cell or plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2025. The rule--supported by major automakers--is part of a broader package of regulations called the Advanced Clean Car program designed to cut vehicle greenhouse gas and smog-forming emissions. The sweeping new auto emission standards could mean 1.4 million electric, fuel cell and plug-in hybrid vehicles on California roads by 2025.
