McLaren P1 almost sold out
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The McLaren P1 (pictured) is almost sold out The last time McLaren decided to build a supercar to beat all supercars was with the McLaren F1 but, despite it’s huge ability and now iconic status – and huge value – they had to give up making it after just 64 cars as they couldn’t find buyers. Fortunately – for McLaren are a bit stretched non all fronts at the moment – it seems that history isn’t repeating itself with the new McLaren P1 as reports today suggest the P1 is all but sold out. Autocar are reporting there are just a handful of the 375 P1s left to sell, with the P1 allocation for America, the Middle East and Asia already sold out and just a handful of cars left for Europe and other parts of the world.
Car whiplash claim scam caught on video
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Car whiplash claim scam caught on video The whole ‘Cash for Crash’ industry in the UK has got completely out of hand, fuelled not just by dishonest motorists eager for an easy few quid, but by ambulance-chasing lawyers eager to find a claim where there’s not even blame, and stupid insurance companies who sell said lawyers the details of their clients’ collisions. So the idea of having a dash-cam of some description to keep a record of events is a smart one, and that’s exactly what Smart Witness offers; a dash-cam that takes a 170 degree view from the driver’s perspective and records it to a smart card.
Engine of the Year Winners: Ford 1.0 litre EcoBoost is top dog
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Ford’s 1.0 Litre EcoBoost wins Engine of the Year 2013 If anything is going to overturn the received wisdom that all small cars should come with a diesel engine, it’s Ford’s 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine. Torquey, lively and frugal, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine is a little marvel, a fact recognised for the second year running by the judging panel for the Engine of the Year Awards, which has given the 1.0 litre EcoBoost the highest ever marks in the award’s fifteen year history. A total of 87 car journalists from 35 countries were hugely impressed with the power, torque and small size of the Ford engine, with one journalist, Peter Lyon, commenting: “Who’d have believed it?
