Minor curb rash such as scratches in the paint is acceptable on the core wheels. So if the curb rash is light and we can simply sand down and polish out the affected area, there will be no problem and no extra charge. However, if your wheels are gauged significantly to the point where repairs (or a replacement wheel) are necessary, there will be a deduction of that amount from the core charge. Curb scrape repairs usually run around $68.50 per wheel. A replacement wheel is $300.00. Your wheels also must not be bent or out of round or have a flat spot (such as from a pothole). This is actually a common problem. Bent wheels could cost anywhere from $85 - $135 per wheel to repair. Unfortunately without having the wheels here at our facility, I can't tell you how much the repair costs will be. One person's "minor damage" is another person's "major damage" and vice verse. A smooth ride is not a guarantee that the wheels are straight and true and going to be acceptable cores. They may require a repair to bring them to 100% before we can chrome-plate them for the next customer. Photos don't help us determine if a wheel is bent or damaged on the inside lip. The inspection needs to be done here at our facility. Repainted, refinished, reconditioned, previously plated or cracked wheels are not acceptable under any condition.

Please make sure that the wheels on your vehicle are the same size and style as the auction (but in the factory silver or polished finish; not chrome) so we ship the correct wheels to you and you return the same cores.

Land Rover testing electric Defender 110 pickup

Land Rover has begun testing an electric version of the Land Rover Defender first shown at the 2012 Geneva motor show. The electric Defender prototype is in service at the Eden Project in Cornwall, U.K., a complex of several large transparent domes that house multiple artificially maintained environments containing thousands of rare plants, and is a popular visitor attraction. At the moment the electric Defender isn't exactly tearing through the Amazon rainforest, but the work it's doing is nevertheless a good approximation of how quite a lot of Defenders are used in real life -- at least in terms of speed and duration of use.

Frank Stephenson, Director of Ferrari-Maserati Concept Design and Development, is to move to Fiat to become Head of the Fiat, Lancia and Commercial Vehicle Styling Centre, based in Turin. Fiat Auto has seen a number of senior management changes within the last week, as part of an overall restructuring of the group. These include the appointment of Karl Heinz Kalbfell, Chief Operating Officer of Alfa Romeo, who is to become Chief Executive Officer of Maserati and replace Martin Leach who is now leaving the Company.

This is Audi's facelifted TT Coupé and Roadster, though rather than referring to the tweaks as full-blown changes (which they're not), Ingolstadt is taking a more subtle approach and merely calling the revisions '2011 Model Year' tweaks. Well it’s an Audi, so all TTs now come with a set of LED daytime running lights. As for the rest of the car, come on, can’t you see the changes? Oh, well Audi says the interior and exterior have been 'revised with great attention to detail'.
