Welcome to My auctions and ebay store.
First of all i d like to state that no modern motorcycle (let alone Superbikes) should be carrying 4 or 5 kilos of lead in 2016!!!
This listing is for a 12 cell 6,9Ah Hi-End LiFePO4 Motorcycle Battery with simple eyelet type marine grade terminals like the one in the first picture. Unfortunately the mini bikes are not for sale! Second picture is the same in "old version" matte finish with a quick disconnect plug fitted. Third picture is the 6,9 in "old version" Matte finish, fitted in a Ducati Monster S4.
IF YOU BUY THIS BATTERY YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A FULLY CHARGED STRONG BATTERY WHEN YOU NEED TO START YOUR BIKE AND IT WILL BE A LONG TIME UNTIL YOU LL NEED TO REPLACE IT .
It s a Small and Lightweight, very powerful Battery . This battery is almost 1/3 the size and ¼ the weight of the battery it replaces .
My Battery has been tested and can replace a 10 Ah, 12 Ah conventional Lead Acid or AGM battery like the YUASA YT12B - BS , the YTX14-BS and other equivalents up to 14 or 16 Ah , maybe more. Only this small battery has more Cranking Amps CCAs . From the first time you crank your starter you will notice a quicker stronger turning of the motor.
These batteries come with a nominal Voltage of 13.2 V (good for the motorcycles 12 V systems) and in capacities of 2,3 Ah (4 cell) ,4,6 Ah (8 cell) and 6,9 Ah (12 cell). Other multiples are possible and can be custom ordered at my email address: springer1994 at hotmail.com.
The 12 cell 6,9 Ah battery weighs 1050 grams or 2,3 lbs. This Auction is for the 12 CELL
The 8 cell 4,6 Ah weighs 730 grams or 1,50 lbs.
The 4 cell 2,3 Ah weighs 380 grams or 0,830 lbs.
Imagine how much Carbon , Titanium or Magnesium parts one has to buy to save nearly 3 or 4 kilograms of weight… Not only that but some bikes have their batteries mounted at the worst possible places on the bike (like the tail) and very far from the center of gravity. So how about loosing some weight and at the same time fixing some of the bike's handling characteristics ?
The first two of the above Batteries have been repeatedly tested with great success to start difficult to start high compression twin cylinder Ducati bikes with 749 ,916 ,996 and 1099 cc motors as well as a high compression (10.5:1) Harley Davidson 1340 cc (80 c.i.). Also a 1100 cc Moto Guzzi Sport Corsa known for its demanding starter starts with almost half a turn of its crank!
Furthermore I am constantly using for almost a year now ,two 12 cell batteries on my everyday and track bikes . And off course many have been purchased by people who couldn t be happier with the batteries performance . These batteries are compatible with the motorcycles charging systems and can replace the batteries in everyday bikes.
After the latest modifications and improvements also my tiny 4 cell 2,3 Ah battery is able to start my 1098 Ducati Bike and also the 996S Off course it starts easily 600cc 2 or 4 cylinder or 1000cc 4 cylinder bikes . However i would recommend the small battery to be used on 600 cc Inline 4 cylinder track or racing bikes and of course to motard and off road bikes up to 600cc except the Triumph Triple 675.
Our stock Motorcycle batteries being replaced (in case of the Ducatis) weigh close to 3900 grams (10Ah) , 4800 grams (12Ah) or more .
My batteries technology originate from Superbike and Moto GP Racing, where impeccable performance and weight savings are of the utmost importance. It is quite a recent technology (a few years) and it s also being used in electric bicycles and hybrid and electric cars. However the specific cell i am using is capable of releasing very high currents for it's size so it is perfect for our demanding motorcycles. The technology used in these batteries is Lithium Phosphate nanotechnology and has apart from weight savings a lot of other advantages:
· Very high CCAs: 120 for the 4 cell, 240 for the 8 cell and 360 for the 12 cell.
· Very low self discharge rate ,1 % of it’s capacity in 6 months so the battery can be on the bike or on the shelf without a Battery tender and retain always a full charge .
· Very high cycle life. Up to 2000 cycles (one cycle is considered one full charge followed by one full discharge), as opposed to 200 cycles of conventional or AGM batteries. This full cycle rarely or never happens to our bike batteries but some racers use a total loss system, where no charging takes place during racing or during a track day session , so they deplete fully their batteries. After the end of the session or race they fully charge thier batteries and so on . Nevertheless these batteries will have an excellent calendar life due to this characteristic (probably more than 5 years on a bike)
· These Batteries do not leak (actually they don t contain any liquid) ,so they don t ever damage our bike with their fluids and can be placed however and wherever we want. So these are perfect also for Vintage bikes which are ridden not so often and damage from battery fluid could be catastrophic.
Also There is lot to be gained from a battery that weighs ¼ or less than the original one and is placed low or close to the center of gravity of the bike…
· Charge normally like any other motorcycle battery on a bike with a conventional charging system.
· My batteries are not affected by vibration. Heat affects them only if 70 C (160 F) is exceeded and then it only slows teir performance at that instant.
· My batteries should not be allowed to be completely discharged as is the case for any conventional battery. If it is ever needed my batteries should be charged with a normal or high Amp automotive charger and not with a battery tender or similar type of charger.
· In cold weather (lower than 4 C or 39 F) ,at first the battery is a little weaker (like any conventional battery). The first couple of cranks circulate current inside the battery so it heats up and becomes stronger to crank the bike with success!
· My batteries are completely maintenance free. I have attached a balancing lead on the battery. This will be used only if the battery is used on a total loss system and could be used for monitoring (if desired) of the 4 cells that comprise the battery. In normal everyday or racing use, the battery does not need balancing , it remains self balanced.
· These batteries have slightly less capacity than the batteries they replace so owners of everyday road bikes with a lot of extra electrics (like heated grips pda chargers navigation equipment etc) should consider going up one battery size or even order a custom battery size.
· In general the 4 cell battery can be used for up to 600 cc or smaller 2 cylinder or Inline 4 (or single cylinder) race bikes with stock compression (not the Triumph Triple 675).
For "civilian" or road use the 4 cell is recommended for inline 4 bikes up to 400 cc or or on/off road single cylinder bikes up to 400 cc.
· The 8 cell is recommended for a inline 4 race bike up to 1100 cc or a Twin cylinder up to 1000 cc with stock compression track or race bike. Very good also for everyday road 750 cc bikes. Also for on/off road bikes or motard bikes up to 660 cc.
· The 12 cell can be used for all the above (some even with raised compression) for racing and everyday use. That is pretty much for every performance road bike . Custom V twin bikes with raised compression and displacement of more than 80 cubic inches (1340cc) will need a bigger 16 cell or 20 cell battery that you can custom order .
Also that applies to touring bikes with a lot of extras . Please contact me at springer1994 at hotmail.com to discuss your application or any questions you may have.
These batteries are handmade by myself after a lot of research and extensive testing as I use them myself on my own bikes and have put them on a lot of friends bikes and people that have bought them locally. I take a lot of pride on them and stand behind them so am offering on those a 3 month warranty for bad materials or craftmanship.
