Features

  • A 4 Digit Digital meter is provided to monitor AC and DC voltage and current to the unit under test.

  • Operates AC and DC units. Input fusing of voltages is provided. An ON-STBY and STBY-OFF switch control the unit in on-off and stand by operation.

  • A Mode encoding is accomplished with the digital A Mode thumbwheel control or the pulse identified toggle switches. C Mode encoding is effected by a toggle switch selector for each C Mode pulse. Four mode controls are incorporated, one for each mode. Test control is provided for A and C Mode.

  • Controls are provided to select LO SENSE, IDENT, 14 OR 28 VOLT operation, REPLY INDICATOR, and REPLY SENSE.

  • The LX-4 is an expressive epoxy LinAire tan with dark brown lettering with knobs of brown and gold. The finish is extremely durable and the decorator colors blend well with today's multi-colored test equipment. The LX-4 is 5.25" high, 19" wide, and 5.25" deep and has a cabinet back that is suitable for rack mounting or stand alone.

CES: GM to open the dashboard to developers

At last year's Autoweek Design Forum, father of the iPod and Nest Labs co-founder Tony Fadell suggested that automakers concentrate on designing and building cars, leaving handset makers to handle infotainment. The latest announcements from Ford and GM -- in conjunction with the International CES -- suggest that automakers would rather treat the dashboard space as a handset. Yesterday, Dearborn, Mich., announced the Ford Developer Program, which opens up Sync to outside application development; now General Motors has announced a similar initiative.

Is BMW’s Project-i (i3 & i8) in trouble?

Reports suggest that BMW are getting cold feet over their electric Project i and are considering delaying the i3 and i8. We’re not the biggest fans of the electric car, although we certainly see it has a place in our new world. But as a replacement for the ICE car it’s a non-starter.

By Tim Pollard (photography by Mike Goodbun) First Official Pictures 27 April 2009 10:39 It’s having a long drawn-out gestation, but Aston Martin’s One-77 supercar made its world show debut at this weekend’s Villa d’Este, where it scooped the top prize for concept cars and prototypes. We’ll forgive you if you thought the One-77 had already been unveiled, but the car at Geneva was a technical cutaway rolling chassis – the first finished car is the one show in our photos above. The One-77 won more than 30% of the votes among the eight cars entered in its category.
